Fuzzy Dice
...Fuzzy Dice.
Fuzzy Dice was originally meant to be the second part of a "double album"...
but I guess there's no reason for that anymore so here it is in all its individual glory

The Sight
Fuzzy Dice
There is Also Love in the World
First you hurt me, I cried
Then you left me, I died
But you could come back babe, I wish
‘cause you’re my special love dish
I love you, it’s true
And my heart’s bleeding, true blue
But you could stop it, like this… (snap)
With just one dose of your kiss
‘Cause I’ve got a reminder
Right in front of my eyes wherever I go
Please remember I’ve got
Fuzzy dice, hanging from my mirror
Fuzzy dice, wish our love was clearer, than the
Fuzzy dice you gave me last year
Don’tcha know it I’ve got…
Fuzzy dice, hanging from my mirror
Fuzzy dice, wish our love was clearer, than the
Fuzzy dice you gave me last year

Oo-wah, oo-wah, oo-wah, oo-wah
Oo-wah, oo-wah, oo-wah, oo-wah

Love was easy, black and white
Just like my fuzzy dice
But there were other fellas in your eyes
And you were tellin’ love lies
Then I opened my hand
And you were spilling like sand
Through my fingers now, I’m sad
The pain I feel is so bad
‘Cause I’ve got a reminder
Right in front of my eyes wherever I go
Please remember I’ve got
Fuzzy dice, hanging from my mirror
Fuzzy dice, wish our love was clearer, than the
Fuzzy dice you gave me last year
Don’tcha know it I’ve got…
Fuzzy dice, hanging from my mirror
Fuzzy dice, wish our love was clearer, than the
Fuzzy dice you gave me last year

Oo-wah, oo-wah, oo-wah, oo-wah
Oo-wah, oo-wah, oo-wah, oo-wah

Fuzzy dice , oooo
fuh, fuh, fuh
Fuzzy dice, oooo
Fuzzy dice, oooo
fuh, fuh, fuh
Fuzzy dice, oooo

Fuzzy dice, right before my eyes
(Rollin')
Keeps you on my mind
(Rockin' my fuzzy dice)
For you, I would even trade away my fuzzy dice
Dangling in my view
wish I still had you

Wah, wah, wah

Please remember I’ve got
Fuzzy dice, hanging from my mirror
Fuzzy dice, wish our love was clearer, than the
Fuzzy dice you gave me last year
Don’tcha know it I’ve got…
Fuzzy dice, hanging from my mirror
Fuzzy dice, wish our love was clearer, than the
Fuzzy dice you gave me last year

Oo-wah, oo-wah, oo-wah, oo-wah
Oo-wah, oo-wah, oo-wah, oo-wah
oooo, Fuzzy dice

One Long Song Ago
I'm all out of words now
I've told all my tales to you
We don't live in a sweet melody
if we did, I'd have sailed to you
One long song ago
We bet on our wishes forever
what do you do when wishes come true
We threw our hearts to the wind together
but I left the encores up to you
One long song ago
I'm not a star, and you're not a princess
This isn't a song or a scene from a play
No happy endings obscuring our senses
I can't go on hoping blindly this way anymore
Not anymore

I'm not a star, and you're not a princess
This isn't a song or a scene from a play
No happy endings obscuring our senses
I can't go on hoping blindly this way anymore
Not anymore
I'm all out of time now
It's all too clear, I was waiting in vain
I'm all out of rhymes I can use
I was sure I could take the blame
One long song ago
Long, long ago
Fuzzy Nights Alone
She moved me so…
How can I let her know
I woke up this morning
and I couldn’t find the floor
Now I’m out with friends and I
can’t think straight to save my life
Just thinking about her turns my daytime
into fuzzy nights
I was driving up and down this boulevard
Searching every face in every car
My dice are swinging back and forth
Like the ticking of a clock… tik tik tik
I didn’t get a number or an address,
I’m a fool
That would be so desperate
I thought I’d look uncool
But I’d rather look uncool
than be the fool that I am now
But she’ll never even know it
And I can’t tell her how…
…fuzzy are my nights
Think I forgot my name
And nothing feels the same
Just yesterday my future seemed so sure
Now nights are fuzzy and obscure
Fuzzy are my nights
How clear I see her
Didn’t know her, now I need her
Fate is hiding her in the great unknown
And now I spend my fuzzy nights alone
Now I’ve searched the streets, and I’ve searched my heart,
can’t shake this fear
We’ll miss each other by seconds only
and I’ll never hold her near
Walking ‘neath the critical moon
Praying to the stars for a sign or a clue
The sound of my shoes in the dark
Like the ticking of a clock… tik tik tik
So sad I didn’t say a word
when I knew I had the chance
I let her walk away, like I was in a trance
I’m no longer in a trance I’m just entranced and don’t know how
to reinvent the moment
so I can tell her now…
…that fuzzy are my nights
Think I forgot my name
And nothing feels the same
Just yesterday my future seemed so sure
Now nights are fuzzy and obscure
Fuzzy are my nights
How clear I see her
Didn’t know her, now I need her
Fate is hiding her in the great unknown
And now I spend my fuzzy nights alone
Fuzz fuzz fuzzy fuzzy
Fuzz fuzzy fuzzy fuzz
Fuzzy fuzzy fuzzy fuzz
Fuzzy is as fuzzy does

Fuzz fuzz fuzzy fuzzy
Fuzz fuzzy fuzzy fuzz
Fuzzy fuzzy fuzzy fuzz
Fuzzy was he was he fuzz
are my fuzzy, fuzzy are my nights

And She Wonders
I don’t have the sight
The future is always closed to me
Especially where you’re concerned
Please let’s not fight
I’ll forget all the things you said of me
Maybe then we could work it out together
I won’t force your hand
The cause and effect of our words come back on me
Use all your magic, put us back together
What if I ran?
Would you come chasing after me?
And if you caught up would you hold on forever?
Don’t listen if you don’t want to
I see complacency in your eyes
And life will go on cause it’s got to
Maybe, after all, I have the sight… the sight
Caught up in the night
The feeling isn’t right
Would you believe me if I promised you heaven
You play it like a scene
Spurious and mean
Are you laughing inside at the things I’m saying
It’s in the air
like a wind across our open wound
There’ll come a time when it will feel better
If you just don’t care
Please have the mercy to walk away from me
We’ll part never having dealt heart on heart together
Caught up in the night
The feeling isn’t right
Would you believe me if I promised you heaven
You play it like a scene
Spurious and mean
Are you laughing inside at the things I’m saying
Don’t listen if you don’t want to
I see complacency in your eyes
And life will go on cause it’s got to
Maybe, after all, I have the sight… the sight
She wakes up early every morning
and gets ready for her day
The cat can keep her company,
though there isn’t much to say
A cup of coffee in her hand
and a paper she half reads
The coffee’s cold and the cup half full
by the time she has to leave
And she wonders,
why she has to work so hard to smile
Why every foot she walks at work
feels in her heart like miles and miles
And she wonders where the prince
they promised her
when she was young has gone
And time just passes, and passes, her by
She has a friend or two she sees,
not often or for long
And a sometimes lover far away,
who visits, then he’s gone
She’s been burned before and closed that door
but the memories still creep in
of the Cinderella promises
of childhood might-have-beens
And she wonders,
why she has to work so hard to smile
Why every foot she walks at work
feels in her heart like miles and miles
And she wonders where the prince
they promised her
when she was young has gone
And time just passes, and passes, her by
Our young dreams get buried ‘neath
the plodding minutes of our lives
All the dull routines we fall into
just trying to survive
Until one day we wake up
and wonder where the wonder’s gone
And it’s then we’ll hear the child inside
who’s been there all along
No woman’s heart has ever aged
an instant passed 18
Though the years paint on the mask of time
that makes it hard to see
And that prince who never came
still holds a place in that young heart
And she holds him close because letting go
would tear her hopes apart
And she wonders,
why she has to work so hard to smile
Why every foot she walks at work
feels in her heart like miles and miles
And she wonders where the prince
they promised her
when she was young has gone
And time just passes, and passes, her by
Time just passes, and passes…
Inward Looking Out
We owe it to the children
to shelter them from all the sadness
We owe it to the hopeless
to raise them up above the madness
We owe it to ourselves
to look for the happiness, do we, do we ever?
We owe it to the sun
to burn away the filth that hides it
We owe it to the ocean
to cleanse the refuse that defiles it
We owe it to the Earth
to look for an answer, are we, do we ever?
We owe it to our past
to heal the hateful and belligerent
We owe it to our future
to teach the frightened and the ignorant
We owe it to ourselves
to make a lasting effort, will we, will we ever?
We owe it to the seasons
now the summer seems too cold
We owe it for the reason
that because of us the Earth’s too old too soon
We owe it to the children… we owe it to the truth
We owe it to the sun… we owe it to the Earth
(to save the world’s imperiled oceans)
We owe it to our souls… (to wipe away the tear stains)
We owe it to the seasons… we owe it for the reason…
that we owe it to ourselves, to look… do we, will we ever
If She Breaks My Heart (will I die)
Silent Lover
We played like children
till it was time to work or hide our secrets
in our hands behind our backs
We loved like dreamers
It all seemed so forever,
much more real than the remaining photographs
Time never stumbles… not time
I often stumble… unlike time
We fought like lovers
and barely scratched the surface,
never hitting hard enough to really hurt
Mother, if she breaks my heart…
will I die?
We quit like strangers
The flower that we sowed and thought perennial
lies dormant in the earth
Time never stumbles… no, not time
I often stumble… unlike time
Mother, if she breaks my heart…
will I die?
I’ve been through the whole trip before
I gave all I had to a love who needed more
than any three lovers could give, and that’s no way to live
Well, I’ve seen the mask by the door
When we first met, that’s the face that she wore
And I didn’t know who was left, and I don’t like to guess
So I’ll be a silent lover
Just holding you in my mind
And I’ll stay a silent lover, and you will stay kind
And I won’t have to watch love die again
I won’t have to watch love die
Once or twice I fell head over heart
But the lovers I left, were just tearing me apart
They complained that I just wouldn’t change,
and they weren’t the same
So I’ll be a silent lover
Just holding you in my mind
And I’ll stay a silent lover, and you will stay kind
And I won’t have to watch love die again
Loneliness isn’t the best way to feel
But chameleon lovers will turn into others
all my daydreams seem much more real
So I’ll be a silent lover
Just holding you in my mind
And I’ll stay a silent lover, and you will stay kind
And I won’t have to watch love die again
No, never again
I won't have to watch
I won’t have to watch love die
The Dark
Sometimes I see a door that’s closed
That walks around in human clothes
and more and more, no one can find the key

And I wonder as I walk on by,
is anything behind their eyes?
The painted, varnished wood is all I see

And I’ve been traveling forever, and there’s no road back
Oh, it feels like I may never get the things I lack
And the music only helps to hold the silence back
But the dark keeps closing in
“Well, we’re here to help,” I hear them say
But what they do says, “go away,
you’ll never find the help you really need.”

And the law just helps to turn the screws,
unless, of course, you’re wealthy too,
you’ll never find the space to simply be
On, a drowning man may kill you reaching for the air
And a few insane may kill you
just because you’re dark or fair
But I’ll never understand the ones
with graphite knives and paper guns
and red tape hearts that beat but just don’t care...

And I’ve been traveling forever, and there’s no road back
And it feels like I may never get the things I lack
And the music only helps to hold the silence back
But the dark keeps closing in

The dark keeps closing in
Hollow
She thinks what she needs most is a vacation
She thinks that would cure her great fatigue
I asked her what she’d do if she had
all the time she wanted
She said she’d sit at home and watch T.V.
But that isn’t living, that’s just existing
If that’s all you look for, that’s all you’ll find
Sometimes you will lose
It's a pain she's never faced
‘Cause she's brave enough to taste
But she feels hollow
Life is like meal
And she’s taking little bites
And she’s trying every dish
But she don’t swallow
She really does believe in ever after
That someday she will meet her perfect prince
But she’s running from the monsters
that hide inside her walls
And we who love her haven’t seen her since
And that isn’t passion, that’s just pain
If that’s what you look for, you’ll find the same
She barely has a clue of who she has been
So how can she know who she’s going to be
She’s mixing tints & hues
unaware she’s color blind
But she knows lonely is a shade
that you can breathe
Sometimes you will lose
It's a pain she's never faced
‘Cause she's brave enough to taste
But she feels hollow
Life is like meal
And she’s taking little bites
And she’s trying every dish
Life is like meal
And she’s taking little bites
And she’s trying every dish
But still feels hollow
The less that you demand
The more she’s got to give
And she’ll touch you where you live
But she don’t swallow
No, she can’t swallow
